After a full day of flight delays, I arrived in Kashgar late evening instead of late morning and missed a chance to visit the city’s famous Sunday market. It was getting dark but there was still some time for some street photography. After checking in at the hotel I rushed out and hopped into a taxi.
“Where to?” asked the driver. “Don’t know. Downtown. Somewhere lively.” I replied.
The driver dropped me off some fifteen minutes later near the Khan Bazaar – and lively it certainly was. I walked around the main drag and ventured into some of the neighboring streets and alleys. I stuffed myself senseless with the local delicacies and imbibed on freshly squeezed pomegranate juice. Delicious. I got some wonderful shots in the process. What a great start to my Kashgar visit.
